Real Woman Poem by Jamarra Butterfield

Real Woman

I may be out of line for saying so,
But you were never sincere.
Don't tell me you were,
I saw straight through you.
I've been hurt before and no, I'm not bitter, I'm experienced.
I know the difference between genuine and fraud.
You thought you'd be able to trap me?
Sorry, this time it didn't work.
See I was gonna love you forever, but you showed me,
Didn't you?
Thanks, I appreciate the warning.
See, I had So. Much. Love, to give YOU!
Hmph…that's okay though, IT'S FINE.
Trust me when I say, you couldn't handle me anyways.

This love? This love I had for you?
Oh baby this was the real deal.
Because when Jamarra loves, she loves COMPLETELY.
I put my mind, body and SOUL into it.
You couldn't handle a real woman, giving you real love.
You aren't man enough to handle me.
Don't be surprised if I don't call you out to your friends and mines.
I don't wanna be another bitter black broken woman.
I'll never give another man the opportunity to break me.
I'm not calling it quits on relationships,
I'm more than capable of loving again.
I'm willing to let someone back in.
But ain't no way in hell I'm gone let him break me.
I think I've shed enough tears in my life,
To fabricate that of any future exigency.
There's no way I'm gonna waste em'.
See I've got plans for future happiness.
If I continue to let men like you discourage me,
There isn't any way I'm ever gonna smile again.
I'd be the fool.
I'm determined to be that lady that just looks into her mans eyes,
And falls in love with him all over again like the 1st time.
Dear God, I pray you change.
While not all relationships work out the same.
I do beg that the next girl you meet changes you.
No more victims please!
Not all women are strong hearten like I am.
I know, because I was once …that woman!
So when you see me walk away from you today.
While jumping out of this 2007 Honda Accord,
With your leather interior and 22" rims.
That same ride, that used to pick up the girl that you played me with in.
Remember this,
as I slam the dented door that you pushed me into a few weeks back.
You will NEVER find a woman as pure, dedicated and willing to love you,
The way that I've loved you ever since the beginning.
You remember that and you remember ME,
Real Woman, that you can never ever have again.
