Reality bites
those that are unfortunate enough,
inattentive and not alert
to carefully placing their steps.
An inattentive mind causes misery
and like a growling dog
sensing the insecurity of its adversary
reality starts to get bigger and scarier
bigger and scarier still.
You are trying to hide, but it sniffs you out
You are laying low, but it keeps jumping at you
the smell of your depression being too strong
your shivers too vibrant
and you realize there is no acceptable way
to avoid the collision
