Reality Killed My Fairytale - Poem by Dyna Misery
Sometimes I wish I could be one of the happy bunch
But the truth hits me like a sucker punch
There's no such thing as a soul
or a jolly fat man at the north pole
I don't believe in the tooth fairy
or pray to the Virgin Mary
They ask if I practice witchcraft
at this I laughed
because there's no such thing as magic
only reality so tragic
I don't believe in silly little things like true love
or an almighty God above
It seems so naive
For anyone to believe
in fairytales so obtuse
as an excuse
to avoid the reality
of their meaningless mortality
