Red Bricks Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Red Bricks

Demolition is slated for a historic home
Constructed of red brick… over a century old
Standing strong upon a sloping loam
At the town’s pinnacle …surrendered and sold

Brightly painted signs announce a debut
As images of the landmark fade from my brain
Opportune commercial gains ensue…
Another business in a monotonous chain
