Red Chili Peppers Poem by Ima Ryma

Red Chili Peppers

We be the chili peppers that
Be bicycled through village street
To place on doors of habitat
As a wreathed red symbol to greet
Any that may come by at night
Planning to wreak havoc inside,
Causing inhabitants such fright.
So they be grateful we're supplied
By those who grow and harvest us,
And bring us by in timely mode
To ward off any nightly fuss
Of evil upon the abode.

We are protective where we stay.
Werewolves and vampires keep away.
