Refugees

While busy making film
Drama, comedy, Romantic,
I have to do research; must affirm

Last night I went as guest; translate
Arabic (and Russian if needed) .

Families, Syrians have arrived
in a church; Stratford
mixture of kindness and giving and
helping and…
and of course business, advantage.

Muhammad and his wife
Syrians; with their kids
were welcomed.

Container was filled with
happiness, music and handshakes
with praise and "Welcome."

Family did not talk
sorrow-filled and saddened
did not move; did not walk;
unless forced; showing thanks;
paying debts…

They were books and the host
held them all by covers
I opened turned pages; partly read.

Shredded were papers and shattered,
everything; full-wrinkled.

In Hijab and in church?
painfully in question:
"Who is who…what is what? "

Poor wife of Muhammad confused as drunk
"Where is home? "; "Where am I? "
"Think larger…of the rest, of them all."
