Regardez Qui Est Ici.(Translation) .
J'ai rencontre Walt Whitman le long du Quai Lambton
bien habille comme un touriste Americain:
Meme le grand chemin
il a fait un clin d'oeil
a quelques ruelles laterales
...Je me suis detourne;
Les enfants abandonnes sont un tel embarras.
Surement, ai-je pense, il a du perdre son chemin
mais, grattant son banjo vetu d'une jupe Maori,
on la vu pour la derniere fois montant a bord d'un avion pour L'Antarctique.

In a fantasy, he saw Walt Whitman walking along Lambton Quay, Wellington, dressed as a tourist. Whitman said the even the open road has some side alleys, which embarrassed Bland who thought of the American as a 'spiritual waif'. Had he lost his way? He was last seen, dressed in a Maori skirt, boarding a plane for Antarctica.
Bland does not seem very impressed by Whitman.

An american tourist dresses himself very well. Meeting Walt Whitman along Lambton Wharf, the big way is winked. Children's abandon is an emplacement and thought provoking issue. The way is lost. We have last seen her boarding a plane for Antarctica. An amazing poem is very brilliantly translated...10
