For some of us time doesn't heal all,
It burns and cuts the pain deeper into your soul,
Some of us can't forgive and forget,
For the memory will be engraved into our minds forever.
When something means the world to you,
But you don't appreciate it til it's gone,
Not a day goes by without it crossing your mind.
Regret, grief and hope make themselves apparent,
If not in everyday thoughts, then in everyday prayers.
Immortality would not heal my pain.
Eternal hell would not heal my pain.
The only antidote would be time.
Not the conventional 'getting over it' future,
But the backtracking past.
Not to change, but to cherish.
If only if only the timeline streamed backwards,
Only then could I prevent being stricken in the present,
By this everlasting memory.
Beautiful. I really enjoyed reading this, it's rather interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.
