Rejecting Seeking Solutions Best For The Nation Poem by Terence George Craddock

Rejecting Seeking Solutions Best For The Nation

seeking solutions which are best for the nation
is an option not always pursued by politicians
milking a crisis for popularity polls all it is worth

early solving a pandemic when riding a media
television tsunami popularity wave means
working for the greater public good would be

too logical and efficient to be laboured for
when so much TV political spin could be spun
it was more logical to lock down the entire

South Island that had not had a single Covid 19 case
in over 300 days finally release the mainland at the same
time as Wellington which had had over a dozen cases

in the previous few days:
Why? Because Mother Knows Best!
Wellington was the capital

it was time to make political capital headlines
milking a crisis for increased personal popularity
polls but for savaged economy the bell tolls!
