Relationships, funny things
Recycle, reincarnate
We cling to things
with passion or
out of rage or jealousy
often giving them personalities and
convincing ourselves we can exchange
thoughts with them.
Things, they will undoubtedly
outlive, rather outlast,
each one of us.
They might be passed down to relatives
who will see they last
at least another generation--
easy if we have things of metal,
things of stone--
perhaps another torrid love affair
or our things may be sent off
there's an afterlife, perhaps
there is recycling
and maybe
maybe funny thing is
there's just maybe
the same for us
2) cont'd: Those previous lives helped him to understand how the cycle of violence had originated in previous incarnations and how it must be stopped.
Your intriguing poem reminds me of a passage in Deepak Chopra's, Buddha in which the child Buddha is able to see the previous lives of two of his friends as they are fighting.
A thought provoking poem.We develop attachments for people and things. The things we are attached may outlive us and pass to next generation. The things too have a life span and may be recycled to get new things like we may get rebirth ]
