Relentless Song Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Relentless Song

There is a song that keeps repeating
in my brain…I tried to disconnect
but it keeps on finding another plug

Don't like it much anymore…it is annoying
Like the relentless hum of a mosquito
Can't swat it away…it is an illusive bug

I have fallen victim to an invisible irritator
Even when I am tired and want to sleep...
the monotonous rhythm just gives a shrug

Tried to drown it with another tune
Turned the volume up… thought it was dead
But then, once again… it raised it's ugly mug
