Releasing The Bond Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Releasing The Bond

Rating: 5.0

There are those who mean everything to your life
Those who’s extended breath you strive to preserve
Those who have given you more than you deserve

A heart filled patience listened to you with understanding
Love and kindness were given … renewing your contentment
They gave to you unselfishly so you could attain betterment

Now as the final hour nears… you are there for them
Speaking softly while reviewing past years… you assess
The parting of a caring soul renders your strength motionless

Powerless to change or rearrange the measure of being
Grieving yet accepting the limitations that time has given…
Letting go of a loving parent with whom you are interwoven

I know how hard this is and so heart-breaking, for I have done it twice. Sad, Theresa, but part of life. Well put, my friend! Warm Wishes, Marilyn

Between birth to death Lies the magic of bonded life Acts upon Innumerable bonds Bonds, which thrash us Bonds, which bind us Every bond takes its levy Every bond has its credit Some we pay with sweat Some we pay with heart. Here you pen that precious bond Each protect the dignity of other Accomplish the need of other. Never can count on pay backs. Emotional.

The time of letting go of a loving parent is imminent to happen to all of us; so spending the best time with them is now! A wonderful tribute to a parent! A 10.
