Religion Introspective Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Religion Introspective

Rating: 5.0

God gave His cherished son
Lord Jesus Christ
Who taught the world, God is love
And suffered for our Salvation
Crowned with thorns, nailed to a cross.

Adam's children in confusion
Question God's existence
As dead leaves fall
From storm-blasted trees
Winter proclaims its chilling reign.

Prophet in misery and loneliness
Banished by those he serves
Cried out from the wilderness
Imploring compassion and tolerance
Saying God's love embraces all.

But they raged against him
Demanding to know
Why God remains hidden
Never banishing fear or pain
Allowing insane to prey upon the sane.
