Religion Introspective Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Religion Introspective

Rating: 5.0

God gave His cherished son
Lord Jesus Christ
Spirit of Sacred Spirit
Who suffered for our Salvation
Crowned with thorns, nailed to a cross.

Adam's children in confusion
Question God's existence
As time runs out with dead leaves falling
From storm-blasted trees
Cruel winter proclaiming chilling reign.

Prophet in misery and loneliness
Banished by those he serves
Cries out from the wilderness
Imploring compassion and tolerance
Love of God embraced by all.

They raged against him
Demanding to know
Why God remains hidden?
Never banishing fear or pain
Allowing insane to prey upon the sane.
