Remembering Poem by Hannah Davies

Remembering

At night in my bed I lay
I don't care what people say
In the light of day
I can see another way.

Remembering the times I was detained
How I was so afriad
There is no need to feel ashamed
I made sure that the truth was obtained.

In the background I can hear that song
But there was nothing I did wrong
I am strong
The only regret is that I left it so long.

The words play on my mind 'I will always love you'
But I felt so lonely and frightened too
But I made it through
There was nothing more I could possibly do.
