Reminiscing Grand Anse Poem by Gillena Cox

Reminiscing Grand Anse

The sea rolled into our hearts,
A song, an offering of love;
And as we sat there on the sands,
Our minds submerged in sunshine,
Sea grapes ripened in demiseconds,
But we were too caught up in,
The mesmerizing halo of ripples,
In an eternal enunciation, orchestrated,
Unseen by a master hand;

Reminiscing Grand Anse,
That vast expanse of blue, blue,
Greenish blue, clear blue, blue, blue,
Blue

Of gentle waters, approaching, then;
Shying away, uncertain of our
Approval; we, the judging panel,
Nod our heads in the yeah nay of
A duo rapport, of scattered thoughts,
That dwell there in the vacationer's soul;
Steeped in ecotourism gestures,
Hands and shoulders burnished,
Feet outstretched or tucked to the side,
Our yogic mantras of wanderlust echoed
In unison, chanted across a kazillion of,
Sea breaths in atmospheric frolic;
Ozone healthy conversations of
A light hearted quality; all the while,
Eyeing the vast expanse of blueness

Waiting to whet our sun soaked appetites;
Our scampering feet, our hands held in
The harmony of heartbeats, we run,
Funsplashing into the waters ever there

That vast expanse of blue, blue,
Greenish blue, clear blue, blue, blue,
Blue
