Remmi's Final Act Poem by Zachary Clark

Remmi's Final Act

Which way to turn, which way to sleep
The world isn't done getting everything
I see you here and see them there
But all this curiosity hinders me

Who's here to find and who's here to not
When the world spins around
Light hits the clock, it stopped and failed
12: 05, analog and apologies... gone

Back up, let's find the time...

Knock, knock, on the door, knock knock
Feet hit the floor, knock knock
Please check the door, peephole says,
'Oh hello, it's just you... Theodore.'

'Hello Remmi, I missed your voice, '
They embraced and wished for more
But the time showed 3: 04, I love you
The cab is waiting, this is our choice

Together they step outside the door
The winter freezes, the snow is bur-r-r-r
It's silent except the engine whirs, 'Wow,
The cold is cutting, ' in the Taxi together...

Down the road into the city...

Dungy and dirty, the streets flicker bums
Ugly and grimy, the drug use is rampant
Gross, he just rubbed his own bone
Discusting, she just cut her own tongue

Down the road they both hope to go
Both are just wishing for more time
Remmi sits debating if this decision,
Is it his or mine? Is this a yes or no...

Her insides shake, the baby wakes
And she questions his whole life
Is this truly something I wish to do
Or is this decision his he makes

Remmi sits, trying not to cry...

A single tears runs down her cheek
The feeling shakes her to her core
The baby kicks, she regains her wits
Remmi opens up the door, shreech

The sound of brakes the taxi stops...

The winter air breaks the war inside-
Remmi steps out and looks around
She can not take it's life
Then Remmi starts to run, and cries

Theodore throws up the door
Of the taxi they were in, he sees
Remmi run and all at once
His anxiety explodes open, 'Whore! '

Remmi trips and hits her hips
In the cobble walk she lands
Theodore bolted after her
Lightning in his hands, as they hit

Sirens...

Remmi breathes, the homeless gits
They motioned for an emergency
When a passerby picked up the phone
And called for police, a womans been hit...

Louder...

The sounds get louder, Remmi's faint
She just wants to save her babies life
Then in a pain, she screams the name...
Of her unborn infant... 'She's Lador-... aine! '

From that moment, a babies birth
Let's say, was a little pre-mature
The doctors tried to save, both their lives
But only saved one, it was a little girl...

Ladoraine...

Which way to turn, which way to sleep
The world isn't done getting everything
I see you here and see them there
But all this curiosity hinders me

Who's here to find and who's here to not
When the world spins around
Light hits the clock, it stopped and failed
12: 05, analog and apologies... gone
