Remote And Distant Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Remote And Distant

Difficult it is,
To remove one's personal emotions felt...
From generic comments made.
Comments not intended to leave anyone,
Feeling offended.
When another begins to express an opinion.
From observations that validates,
A quality of life depreciating slowly.
For all to notice,
Not to happen overnight.
And criticized frequently by millions,
Living beyond to not exclude...
Local neighborhoods.
Tricked, deluded and convinced,
To accept what has been neglected...
Is an event not meant with purpose to demean.
But instead their needs are kept prioritized.
By the elite Suntanning,
Under blue cloudless skies.
On decks of yachts.
Docked near remote and distant islands.
With desires wished there was something,
They could do for those less fortunate.
But time has yet let them,
Find the appropriate title...
To name what would be best that identifies,
Their concerns to provide meaning...
To their associates.
And their philanthropic socialite lives.
