Respect, Honesty And Love Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

Respect, Honesty And Love

I love to say the word “husband”
It makes me smile inside.
I love to be called Mrs.
It reminds me I am yours for all time.

I am proud to be called wife
It reminds me I am loved and wanted.
To say yes, when asked if I am married,
Fills me full of pride.

For the last some odd twenty years,
I have only wanted to be loved.
Well that is a partial truth,
I wanted somewhat more….

I find I wanted SO much more.
So much that I changed my entire life
And became someone I was not.
To have the man I wanted, I thought he was more.

Now I am finding me again.
Never will I give me up.
I love you, and want to grow with you
But I am me and that is who you love.

I love that we are married,
Our hearts are as one now.
My freedom was never an issue,
Just love, respect, and vows.

I am so proud to say you are my husband.
Money matters not to me.
What matters most is our love,
Respect and honesty.

Remember that I love you always,
And disrespect me not.
Hurt me and you will break my heart
And my sanity will be naught.

I see us in the future,
Growing old and still in love.
I see us in my minds eye,
Together, till we go to heaven above.
