The youth are the leaders of tomorrow
On their turn they must wait, the words on their tongue they must hold
Tomorrow is their day, their future stands only in the capacity of their hope
Old men said and hoped the youth will count on it and trust in their word
A hungry stomach knows no tomorrow's tales
A lie peddled with the nicest of words brings no lasting comfort
The youth have been deceived and their future jeopardized
Tomorrow is your day to rise up but today you must wait your turn
With hearts devoid of hope and vision blurred by deception
African youth yearn for change now, not tomorrow as Mr Politician man promised
Without employment the burden to survive or thrive is heavy on their backs
What will be of tomorrow if we don't strife for change, they ask
With clarity and a unified voice, they choose to rise, now not tomorrow
To be the change they want to see and not just sit and wait for the wind
Raising their voice and determined to pay the price to breakthrough
Even when gun shots fired in the protest and bloodshed the struggle ensues
The resolve undeterred, to liberate the nation from the shackles of modern colonialism
Generation Z uprising with a song, a protest march in the street with camera phones ready
The revolution will be televised and streamed for the word to see
Power belongs to the people, this generation will stand tall as a beacon and steward of it
