Rhinestone Cowboy Poem by Ima Ryma

Rhinestone Cowboy

Glen Campbell's career had gone flat
When Rhinestone Cowboy came his way,
About a faded star who's at
The twilight period of his day.
All that was needed - a hit song
To put the singer back on top.
Grammy awards would come along,
Winning in both country and pop.
Rhinestone Cowboy gave Glen the gift
Of his stardom getting relit,
Of his career getting a lift,
Thanks to a real gem shining hit.

The singer Glen Campbell is gone,
But Rhinestone Cowboy still shines on.
