Riding The Wind Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

Riding The Wind

Where in the name of God
Is my string caught?
The kite thought,
As it wriggled again and again
To rise with the wind.

Oh, to go beyond the clouds,
To go across the mountains,
To go farther and farther,
Where no one had ever been!
If only it could break the tether!
