Roses, Rainbows And Butterflies Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Roses, Rainbows And Butterflies

Rating: 5.0

The most lovely of wonders…

Roses:
Open petals display anticipation.
They invite fascination.
Their fragrance is pure intoxication.

Rainbows:
They appear only after the rain.
They speak brilliantly…
Though they have no brain.

Butterflies:
They are beautiful to see.
They are almost weightless
As they flutter worry free.

If I could possess these qualities;
A combination of the three.
I would have a beautiful glow
And express myself contently.

Your pieces are always so real.....you take everyday things that we all take for granted sometimes and give them a whole new meaning....I don't know how you do it...I too love the last set of lines

Thanks for the glimpse of things we no longer see so often. The lady in the neighborhood who grew her roses for shows is now gone and so are her roses. I have not seen a rainbow for quite awhile now. I did see a double rainbow once and never knew that was a possibility. I did see a swallowtail butterfly yesterday. Can't remember when I last saw one. Even the bees are not around. As usual your ending is gem of thought. I like the title too - singing like a butterfly flying.
