Royal Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Royal

Royal

Ruled sky the Royal
-spread its wings wide
-the eagle, king for time.

With the mean and deep looks
-made sure that it sets rules:
- "Here yes and there no,
-fish, now come to shallow…"

In danger felt the birds
- (in size, far smaller)
-soared, swarmed to sky
-confident, as one arm
-like the ants in a line:
- "Coup d'état! "
- "Coup d'état! "
- "Coup d'état! "

Powerful, (as it thought)
-was attacked, singled out
-embargoed, bordered out…

I stared and had fun
-the eagle was on run…

The redwings united,
-together, sought their rights
-they moved as do the ants
-attacking large locusts.

The Redwings fought and won
-though they are too small!
