Ruined Lives Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Ruined Lives

Hindsight to have it,
Seems always used...
As a beneficial defense.
By those who refuse to listen.
When the advantages,
Of doing this with time to give,
Becomes too late for anyone to appreciate...
Their suggestions made,
After their participation to create...
Unnecessary tension that prevented,
A moving forward from a pettiness.
They 'now' will claim,
Had been a childish attempt to get attention.
And perceive they should receive,
Forgiveness to be given.
With a sympathy shown for their stupidity.

"We all make mistakes."

-That's true.
We all do.
But to acknowledge them made,
After decades have passed.
Who is it but you,
Could not then admit that to do.
To know,
Lies to tell had ruined lives.-
