Ruled Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Ruled

We live life to be ruled.
And choose we do to follow,
Those we depict as idols.

We live life to be ruled.
And study what is taught in schools.
To take tests until we pass.
With hopes to get a status to be had.

We live by rules.
Laws to obey and rules.
And images to fit in them.
To defend and not offend them.
Or live any other way.

Ruled.
From the moment we are born.
From the moment we take notice,
How to live and to confirm.
With hopes to earn a status.
Shown worn to wear adorned.

We live life to be ruled.
And choose we do to follow,
Those we depict as idols.

Living life to have a status had.
And ruled.
We do to choose.
Living life to have a status had.
And ruled.

Living life to have a status had.
And ruled.
We choose to do.
Living life to have a status had.
And ruled!
