Rumble In The Jungle Poem by Margaret O Driscoll

Rumble In The Jungle

Rating: 5.0

Under a huge canopy of mahogany
Teak, ironwood and palm
Dark jungle gets even darker
Streaks of lightening, sudden calm
Then the jungle rumbles with thunder
Relentless rain comes pelting down
Flash floods sweep through undergrowth
Streams of swirling water muddy brown

Monkeys watch high up on branches
A snake slithers on the ground
Trekkers zig zag around fallen trees
On and on a rumbling sound
Wading along ankle deep,
along each path a leopard trap
Gloom lit by a flash of lightening
Then another thunder clap
