Have you come here this season again
just to say woe beget this congregation?
Have you not swore now and then, here
to forgive all these sins and sacrileges?
To us, did you bring death and tears
for our eyes that wouldn't stop stares?
To us, you brought reasons to mourn
and dig sands, muds this season hard
We knew but burn forest and dump dirt
We block waterways for reasons scant
Have we got mouth to curse and wail
when we die in water we couldn't sail?
Did mother, weary, warn children yet
that politics use weapons to stake bet
That this is a national season when
the frail legs limps off political pitch?
You've been here all seasons along and
decided to watch us play suicide game
Have blood not blur your face enough
that you laugh as man eats sacrilege?
