Sad Joy Poem by Smoky Hoss

Sad Joy

Rating: 5.0

Life is furtive.
Never quite this.
Never precisely that.
How oft the sacred sadness comes.
The endless echo of melancholies call.
A clandestine comfort.
I am drown in waves both enchanting and despairing.
The ebb & flow, ineffable, inexplicable.
A wretched necessity.
A compulsion of body & soul, mortal & immortal.
The sun sets, in order to rise again...and again...
Sometimes, the sad joy of melancholy is surreptitiously overwhelming.

oh, Smoky, I so hope and pray you are not as melancholy as this well-written poem whisper to me... my talented friend, you pack a wollup [sp] with your poetic skills and sympathetic heart---top marks of course

[cont.] And the use of a period to end each line and the use of a CAPTIAL letter to start 'each' line....I do not care for and do not recommend. ;)

Also, despite Susan's praise (which has shown up) , I found several words used which I think may be 'misused'. [cont.]

This poem was in Notifications on PH as having had a comment left on it, a comment I don't see on poen's page yet. But is mentioned that, in an 'ice cream-eating contest' poem, Smoky was the winner, though I, Bri, was a contestant also. I demand a rematch! ! !

MELANCHOLY: [ as a noun; it is also an adjective ] '1 a: depression of spirits: DEJECTION ....b: a pensive mood.....// Perhaps, in line 5, you mean 'melancholy's call'? ? ?

An excellent poem, my bronco riding friend. This is your last poem posted, more than a month ago. Are you still with us? Congrats on winning Belle's ice cream eating contest!
