Sai028. Sai Baba The Master Poem by Rajaram Ramachandran

Sai028. Sai Baba The Master

SHIRDI SAI BABA

Sai Baba's height was five and a half feet,
Fair complexion, body medium built,
Eyes bluish, but visible in the darkness,
In total, an attraction to all devotees.

He wasn't taking daily tea or coffee,
And allowed both by any devotee,
But he had the habit of smoking
Clay-pipe tobacco morning or evening.

He wore coarse whitish cloth always,
Covering his head with a cloth piece,
Taking an occasional bath, not daily,
And wore green lungi very rarely.

As he was very calm and quiet,
He spoke, if there was a need for it,
And he never laughed loudly,
But just used to smile gently.

Once Baba was in the kitchen,
When he was cooking alone,
He put his right hand inside
The boiling pot to mix the food.

When devotees came inside,
They were too surprised
To see that his right hand was
Free from swelling or wounds.

Yet another time, he was near
Dhuni, the usual burning fire,
And suddenly he put his hand
In the fire and something he pulled.

His hand was burnt by fire,
But he laughed in that hour,
For saving a kid somewhere
That fell into a furnace fire.

Spiritual men are born Saints,
On this Earth, as God's gifts,
To love and lead His creations
To reach their right destinations.

Sai Baba is also a gift of God,
Who came on this Earth to lead
In the right path, every one of us,
By living as a model for all of us.
