aught: pronoun ARCHAIC " anything at all" Ought i know how you use " aught" ? ;) yes, it seems arbitrary when people celebrate New Year, but i guess it has something to do with astronomy and/or religion. I never (or rarely) feel what, to me, would be happiness, but i gladly settle for usually being " content" with my life. I could say more, but i'll stop now! bri :)

Yes, I agree with you, a poem is as is interpreted by the reader, more than what the poet wants it to be. Thanks for visiting with your new insight.

New year will definitely appear as fresh as today. This poem is very interestingly and nicely penned.
