Bill Cantrell

Sailing - Poem by Bill Cantrell

In between the tides, I have gazed upon your moment of innocent rest
To witness the peaceful slumber of such a giving heart
Beating softly behind your breasts

Even in the land of melancholy, when there were no exit signs
You delivered me; yes, your songs would fill my painful void
And on my troubles, we would dance

While looking into your eyes, I have seen the color of your love
I was the black surrounded by waves of your baby blue
And in my ocean, there is only you
