He revered mystical aspects of Nature.
Within Creation, he perceived great beauty.
He was most kind to all of God's creatures
And all kinds of people loved him dearly
So they flocked to follow this life - giver
Who put the cold Catholic church to shame.
His Grace still flows through us like a river
In these modern times which are plagued by gain.

Its times like these I wish there were more people moulded from him. Or enlightened in his ways and teachings, his example to follow and turn ones back on avarice and petty foolish vain jealousies. A finely balanced poem Dominic, one of sober refection. Five stars and this is the first time I have ever read a poem on Saint Francis or Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone as he was once known.
