Sandwiched Thoughts Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Sandwiched Thoughts

Sandwiched between thoughts of tomorrow are ideas of what
is ahead of us in life.

Nothing but a deep blackness settles upon a person as death
closes its arms around us.

Taking every breath, counting each one as they slowly expire,
pushing us closer to edges of beyond where our future lies in
waiting.
