Sap Poem by Herbert Nehrlich

Sap

Sap had started running
in the early hours.
It was a vain attempt,
utterly so.
How could one hope
for an escape
from total annihilation
by man-made means
But Sap felt better
simply for trying.
He saw himself
as paying member
of one big global
nuclear family.
