Sappho's Echo Poem by Panmelys

Sappho's Echo

Sappho's wise words
dominate all ttime.
Strong sounds
echo fresh notes:
nightinggales listen:
struck dumb.
Sweetness fills air,
passionate songstress
thrills ear,
nature bows: spell bound!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
it's the story of following footsteps of ancient poetry into the present, and future of all time
occcasioned by admiration of a poet of the moment writing her own interpretation of how
her feelings were deeply touched, especially inspired on reading one line of Sappho:
'I heard the footprints of the flower, Panmelys spring....'written at Shakespeare & Co sitting with George Whitman, now deceased, and reading Sappho with him - so perhaps dedication is to this great man who was one of my best friends.
