Satan's Playground Poem by Paula Glynn

Satan's Playground

This used to be my playground
Before the devious devil entered my life
My empty life becoming turbulent
And full of neverending hassle and stress.

This used to be my playground
Before the ancient battle between
The holy good and the satanic evil
Many involved in the supernatural fight.

This used to be my playground
Before the painful violence began
My life concerned by others
Others questioning my personal choices.

This used to be my playground
Before I lost my innocence
My successful career taking me up and up
My life with money and Irish luck.

This used to be my playground
Before the lashing storm hit
And the world turned to darkness
The sunlight blocked by rainclouds.

This used to be my playground
Before the almighty God intervened
Questioning the doomed devil
Doomed to live in eternal night.

This is still my playground
Now living in the tropical warmth
Of earth I know to be paradise
My wise soul advanced through the years.
