Say A Prayer For Me Poem by Randy McClave

Say A Prayer For Me

I looked into her green, green eyes
Which were as sad as eyes there ever were,
Once I saw her as the greatest prize
Now, I just see her as a detour.
I found out what she was doing
And I knew not what to do or what to say,
In my very soul a storm began brewing
So, once again to God I did pray.

I looked into her eyes of green
Which once gave me my greatest delight,
But, now all that I see is a different scene
Which causes me to worry and to cry at night.
I knew what she had done
And it didn't bother her one bit at all,
The victory to win her, I never won
Now, again I will fall.

I looked into her green eyes once more
Into them I will never ever look again,
Because, they open the souls very door
And all that I saw was sin.
She begged and wanted us to remain a couple
But, no more could that ever be,
My thoughts and my belief can't ever be that supple
Now I said to her, "please say a prayer for me".
