Scaredy Cat! Poem by Richard D Remler

Scaredy Cat!

******

I wish I did!
I wish I did!
I wish, I wish
I wish I did.

But when it came
Around to me,
I didn't do it,
No Siree!

They all
Laughed loud
And double-hearted.
I'd stopped before
I ever started.

They told me
Turns like this
You earn,
But I paused until
I'd lost my turn.

I stepped away
And stumbled clear.
It terrified me
Ear to ear.

And I can't blame
A nobody.
The fault here only
Rests on me.
