Scattered Rose Red Petals Poem by Terence George Craddock

Scattered Rose Red Petals

I came home late
tired from working
but before I had a bite to eat

I gathered up all the dirty clothes
stripped down our bed changed
all the sheets then I did all the laundry

cleaned all the house
till it was spick span and neat...

I put a red rose
beside your pillow
scattered rose red petals

among our sheets
so that in the gentle night
we could share a perfumed sleep...

then I prepared cooked
our evening meal served
it at a candle lit table

wine glasses glittered
like diamonds in sparkling
comfort lit light...

because you come home
so tired also working
everyday in our economic fight

but with eyes of love emotion
glowing we share spare time
each day each night...
