Scenes Of Autumn Poem by John A. Hancock

Scenes Of Autumn

The days have grown quite chilly
A crispness fills the autumn night
Pumpkins glazed in frost'd sparkles
Let us know we will feel winter's icy bite

The stars seem just a little brighter
The moon beams its pale white somber rays
Children start to think what they want
When they arise on Christmas Day

The nut trees shed their harvest bounty
Little squirrels scamper to and fro
Collecting nature's tiny treasures
To sustain them when harsh winds begin to blow

Every tree is a painted picture
Fall sketches slowly o'er time
Each one a different colour proclaiming
Winter's breath be not far behind
