Setting The Scene Poem by John A. Hancock

Setting The Scene

The night arrives still and peaceful
An opened window invites a welcomed breeze
Teasing the candles oh so slightly
Whilst they flicker aimlessly in front of me
The moon plays hide and seek with the clouds
As they pass silently through the sky
Crickets play their evening score
Their summer symphony echoing thru the night
Tis a scene that cries for a birth of a poem
The stilness allowing my thoughts to flow
For in solitude, the truest of emotions spring forth
With just the darkness and me alone
