Scientific Teachings Of Vedanta Poem by Tushar Ray

Scientific Teachings Of Vedanta

Know yourself at first and then seek to know others
This is the crux of ancient Vedanta-text
Instead, trying to know others by going in reverse
Is like a blind man probing an elephant

All knowledge reside in the temple of our body
Absolutely nothing is apart from that
So, knowing our own self by deep meditation
All facts come under a person's hat

Our spirit-self is the seat of all our happiness
That too pervades this entire universe
So forever we're free from time-space constraint
Since nothing really stays beyond us

Our material body is truly nobody in the universe:
Only an interim carriage for the endless soul
Where the spirit in us is the only one in-charge
Always playing for fun with us in our egotist goal

Our body as gross matter and mind as fine matter
Is finally one, with vast pool of stuff
Being forever in flux with matters in the universe
They just go around in a cyclic task

Spirit is only steady in our ever changing universe
Being deathless entity is only real kind
Perception from this stable base offers global view
All others are truly figments of our mind.

So, attempt to know others not knowing oneself first
Is bound to be fruitless at best
When a person sees the partial truth all around him
Being unable to discern own true self
