Scissoring The Shadow Poem by fraidoon warasta

Scissoring The Shadow

scissoring the shadow
harassing the ocean
shooting the mars
bullying the forests
lassoing the stars

colourless corals whispering
could it be the end of our lyrical journey?

who dares
without leaving traces
walking
in the lanes of waves
but waves

without cutting
who can scissor
the purple of the sky
but a swallow

without leaving one's home
who can dive into the galaxies
but one who escapes
the space of time

who imprisoned man
in hoax and alienation
but time, he created

the pettier man becomes
the longer his shadow grows
who dares
who dares to embrace his petty shadow?

the juxtaposition of man and nature is shattering

freezing the savannah
suffocating the air
shooting the stars
