'Seafaring: A Coastal Odyssey' Poem by Mervyn Graham

'Seafaring: A Coastal Odyssey'

From Cape Wrath's rugged shore, where wild tempests roar,
To Rattray Head where waves break evermore,
Through Orkney's Isles where legends dance and sing,
A journey starts upon the ocean's wing.

Past Berwick-upon-Tweed, where history's tales unfold,
To Whitby's cliffs, where ancient stories are told,
To Gibraltar Point where seagulls wheel and cry,
We sail along beneath the boundless sky.

From North Foreland's beacon guiding ships by night,
To Selsey Bill where seafarers take flight,
Lyme Regis' golden sands and rugged coast,
Lead us on towards Land's End, where dreams are boast.

Through Isles of Scilly, where enchantment lies,
To St David's Head where cliffs reach for the skies,
And on to Great Orme Head where seagulls soar,
We journey forth, our spirits set to explore.

From Mull of Galloway, where shadows fall,
To Isle of Man, where echoes softly call,
Through Lough Foyle to Carlingford's tranquil bay,
Our voyage carries on, come what may.

Mull of Kintyre, where melodies ring clear,
To Ardnamurchan Point, where shores appear,
From Cape Wrath's wild embrace to journey's end,
We find our way, where our destinies transcend.

And in the howling winds of Shetland's isles,
Where rugged cliffs meet sea with ancient smiles,
Our odyssey finds its final, gentle rest,
As waves caress the shore and dreams attest.
