Seclusion Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Seclusion

There may be better ways,
For someone to self reflect.
And face the truth.
But as of yet,
There has been nothing that beats...
Enforced seclusion.
That affords one to reach,
This 'opportunity' to release and let go...
The effects of delusion.
Without being disturbed.
Or anyone else being heard,
Disagreeing to argue...
With what one has discovered,
Alone by themselves to have found.

"Is that screaming I hear,
Coming from the one in isolation? "

-Yes.
But ignore it.
Eventually truth will win.-

"How long will that take? "

-Who knows.
Sometimes it takes,
Those who have committed...
The most unbelievable crimes imagined,
To be convinced...
They would not be,
Locked away and secluded.
If they had not allowed themselves,
To follow corruption.
And those who made claims,
Of knowing how to fix...
Rules and laws.
With them to change whenever they wished! -

"So...
Their screams to hear,
May continue for years? "

-Not necessarily.
Most inmates...
Ultimately confess,
Of finding God.-

"Finding God?
Where? "

-After screaming.
And realizing their shouts,
Of being innocent.
Only a forgiving God,
Will take time to listen.
But that one you hear now,
Demands a boulder...
Be removed from his entombment!
Since he had been,
Unjustly crucified.-
