maybe they'll pass the last accords
giving us all the right to explore
places we could never afford to go
we remain indifferent as the snows
because we cherry velvet know
flick of the switch
and lemon twist
and buttons that pop
and must be sewn on again
on again
we know we can go
when God runs the show
parting the theatre curtains of our minds
on any frog possible jog again
drinking the Christmas nog again
or so
fearmongers turned to fishmongers
in a trice
if we become so gingerbread icing nice.
over the sea by underleaf
or anywhere where there's papier mache relief
in the mountains
from unrelenting suns
wish the wish and it's done
well within the hour
of imagination's dower
as long as you're up to
in your tried and true
a surely angelical point of view
setting the world to sweet rights again
bidding the children good nights again
singing all that you possibly possibly could
in your rose cape and caparisoned hood
you reign supreme through
all the enchanted wood.
