Cape Restio plants have a plan
On getting bugs to pollinate
Their seeds across a planted span.
Dung beetles do cooperate.
Large dark seeds the plants do produce
That look just like animal poop,
Along with pungent smell profuse.
The dung beetles fall for the dupe.
Each bug does roll each seed away.
The seed is buried in the ground
To eat as food another day.
Instead a growing plant be found.
Fooling animals is a part
Of why some plants are super smart.
