Seeing The Inside Poem by vanessa feliciano

Seeing The Inside

Rating: 4.5

My outside is but a shell
A strong shell Full of lies
Full of false emotions
No one can really see what is inside the shell
Sometimes not even i.
Its a whole other world
Inside this shell
A whole other being
Who i dont know well
You see iv been hiding this being
For far to long
and now...
When she shows herself it shocks me
Was it i who was holding all that within?
Impossible...how?
All i can remember is my smiles
My happiness
And then something else
I can remember that it was never real
It was fake, a lie
The real me is sad.
She does not smile
She is confused about many things.
Her life makes no sense
and yet
For the sake of everyone else
She smiles
So others wont be afraid
So others wont ask questions
She smiles
And with every smile
Her shell cracks
Until...
It shatters.
