Seek It To Recognize Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Seek It To Recognize

Seek every moment possible,
Who it may be or what it is.
That has gain entry into your life.
With an innocence pretended.
Yet to notice attempts tried,
To minimize until diminished...
Everything done you do.
Including your acquired pride.
In the hope...
You will be left,
Feeling less about yourself to accept.
And more about them.
As they continue to express,
More disrespect than you expect.
Recognize this as a gift received.
Meant to open your eyes and ears.
Done to clear your mind from a blindness!

Seek every moment to keep,
Your identity, dignity and heritage.
Kept to pride.
With faith not to have replaced.
Knowing what it takes,
Just to walk tall and be who you are.
And never be put in a position to defend,
Against others who wish...
To impress and imitate themselves to shine,
Brighter than the brightest of all stars.

Know who you are.
With a seeking to recognize,
You have no need to imitate or impress.
And leave that up to God to address.
With faith kept to know you've been blessed.
Seek only this to keep recognize.
Done to live YOUR life.
Accepting with approval to do.
From one step to the next.
To accomplish what satisfies you best!
