Seems, So Long Ago. Poem by Sandra Feldman

Seems, So Long Ago.

Rating: 5.0

Around the meadows,
Daisy's smile and shine,
The autumn sun, warms
The body and the mind.

Now,
Away from cities
Miseries,
Politically induced
And flared,
The soul relaxes,
From its cares.

One must take leave
Today, from pressures
Of society, that slay,
Ideally reach a mental
Desert isle,
If one is to survive.

Or just gently,
Float away
On some passing cloud
That comes your way.

Pack imaginary bags
Of dreams,
Find a magic cave
With paintings, primitive
Wait there and pray.

Quietly,
For someone or something,
To by some miracle
Return us,
To the humanistic way
In which we once lived,
Long ago,
And were a able to
Some good things,
Learn,
When life was still
A ship, of discovery
And hope.
Seems, so long ago...
